"Where I'm From" Premiere

There are once in a lifetime events that happen during your life & for Pit Crew this was one. On May 21st, 2004, "Where I'm From" premiered to a packed house @ the Weinberg Center in Frederick, MD. Over 1000 people showed up for the event including all the team riders except Jake Rupp, who had to be in Japan at the time.

This is the first time in 7 yrs since there had been a project involving the members of the shop team. As any premiere goes, the video or someone arrives late & in this case, it was Sam Wientzen getting off his plane from LA to arrive at the video's start. You have to love it.

No words can put the feeling and the energy that surrounded the family that night once the video hit the screen. 3 1/2 yrs of hard work were being project on the screen for the world to see, it was a dream come true to everyone involved.

The video represented a 10 year commitment Tim & Malcom have invested in the skateboard community of Washington DC and the surrounding helping us as the team grow, and our skate scene stay as strong as possible. This was a mile-marker in the lives of all who were part of the project and proof skateboarding in the DC area did not die, but only got stronger.

When you remember why you started skateboarding & have fun when ever you get a chance to roll around, everything else will fall into place. Pit Crew gave us a chance to show the rest of the world how much fun skateboarding is to us. "Where I'm From" is our testament to the sport and art form we love. Go skate...
